Serving Customers Since 1957
Founded in 1957, Interstate began as Interstate-GM Diesel headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota. One of the first Detroit Diesel and Allison Transmission distributors, our primary focus was on the sale and service of engines and transmissions. From the start, Power Systems has been a core Interstate business.
Beginning in 1986, our company expanded to include additional products and services in locations in Minnesota as well as Iowa, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Wyoming. Five locations in Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana were added with the acquisition of Inland Power Group in 2015. Inland operated five locations in Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan and Indiana, and is now part of the Interstate Power Systems group.
Interstate Power Systems is just one of our Interstate Companies divisions. Other divisions in the Interstate portfolio include Interstate Bearing Systems, I-State Truck Centers, Interstate Assembly Systems, and Interstate Energy Systems. These divisions touch thousands of customers in many different industries. They work together, sharing training, knowledge, and resources. This unique business structure enables us to provide end-to-end solutions in a seamless, customized manner.
